2024 Pennant, Cleek & Hickory
Women's A3 - June 3 - NAGC vs Royal Adelaide
Tough day on a very cold west lakes course for the A3 girls. North Adelaide went down 4-1 to Royal Adelaide with Soo Bong Lee our only victor winning 2-1.
The team consisted of Se Young Jung, Young Mi Ko, Mi Park, Carolyn Coleman and Soo Bong Lee.
Cleek 1 - June 3 - NAGC vs Mt Osmond
It was Mt Osmond at home today on a chilly morning.
The girls rallied for a much needed win which now puts us in contention for finals if we are able to grab wins in the last two games.
Great wins today by Lita 4 up, Jinny 2 up and a nail biter finish with Di winning 1 up.
Close loss by Julia and we can blame Deet's caddie for her loss.
Keep it going girls we can do it.
Hickory - June 3 - NAGC Birdies vs The Vines
NAGC Blue team had a hard fought win against the Vines at Royal Adelaide 4/1. Freezing & Judy finished in the dark
Hickory - June 3 - NAGC Eagles vs Mt Osmond
Not our day today in cool temps at Thaxted ( but a great sunrise on arrival) with a 4/1 loss to Mt Osmond.
Everyone gave it their best but so it seems the ops did too.
How good was that by the fire....
Hickory - May 27th - NAGC Blue team V West Lakes at The Grange.
3 games won, 1 squared & 1 loss on the 18th. Great weather, fabulous course.
The new girls are settling in well & enjoying playing these amazing courses.
Hickory - May 27th - NAGC Red Team vs Westward Ho at Blackwood
We had a more leisurely start following on from Cleek. We had 4 wins and a square.
Great competitive spirit from everyone.
Cleek 1 - May 27th - NAGC vs Blackwood
Oh what could have been drrrr....
We had a hard draw with playing Blackwood at Blackwood at the crack of dawn.
Carla got off to a shaky start but with great team spirit the rest of the girls tried to bring it home.
Deet, Belinda and Dee took the Blackwood girls to the 18th hole but just couldn't get the job done and also lost.
Soooo close with Di being the only winner for the day.
Great job and we will get em next time girls.
Cleek 1 May 13th - NAGC vs Kooyonga
Another beautiful autumn day for Cleek with a close finish which could have gone either way.
Unfortunately, it went the other way with a close finish with Belinda battling it out as hard as she could to tie the games.
NAGC went down 2 wins and 3 losses but all close matches.
North Adelaide v West Lakes at Mount Osmond GC
After a chilly start (even at 11am), it turned out to be a beautiful day for golf. The team consisted of Belinda Smith, Lita Nam, Lisa Liu, Yeon Hee Choi (Julia) and Eunjin Park (Jinny). NAGC lost 3 games to 2 with Lita and Julia winning their matches. An impressive display by Lita winning 7&5. Julia finished 2 up. The inexperienced team did a great job against a tough West Lakes team.
The women,s A3 team played its first round match at Mt Osmond on Monday against a very strong The Vines team.
Unfortunately we went down 4-1.
Soo Bong Lee, playing her very first game in a Pennant format, was our sole winner timing her fight back to win 1up on the 18th. Soo Bong understandably had a nervous start but made late brave comeback from 4 down, giving her confidence a big boost for future rounds.
Other team members Seyung Jung, Mi Park, Carolyn Coleman and Merrilyn Middleton played well but it was not their day. All played some really good golf but had trouble getting out of bunkers cleanly or reading the green.
Despite the results it was such a beautiful day to be out playing golf. The perfectly clear view from Mt Osmond over the city and to the sea made it all worth it!
Next week we play Blackwood on their home course.
