Men's Pennant B2

North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 5

Well folks Groundhog Day is alive and well in Adelaide, or at West Lakes last Sunday anyway and to a lesser extent at Blackwood as well.

The B2 team travelled to Blackwood to take on Regency Park with hope for a successful match.

This group consisted of Chris Watson, Yung Bok Kim, Atila Koca, Joe Scriva,  Frank Kong, Luis Madriz and James Abiero.

Even with their best efforts it proved a bridge too far for the boys, they went down 2 and 5.

The B’s will be scrapping it out against the Mount Osmond group at Regency Park.

Our NAGC members are doing their best for the club and it would be greatly appreciated if a couple of folk could put their hands up to support these guys whilst they do battle.

You don’t need to do too much apart from ride in a cart and hand out drinks or snacks to the guys during the round.

We could really do with some support for both teams again this weekend and next, which is the last minor round match so if you are able to assist get in contact with me and I can let you know just what is required.

Once again good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.

North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 4

Round 4 saw our B2 team travelling the freeway to Aston Hills to take on the bottom placed Highercombe.

The NAGC B2 took on the Highercombe team at the picturesque Aston Hills course which was in great shape but crying out for water.

This week’s line-up included Chris Watson, Paul Haines, Abbasi Mchawala, John Filmalter, Joe Scriva, Frank Kong and Luis Madriz.

This was not the result we had hoped for and unfortunately the Highercombe team proved too strong, and we went down 2 and 5.

The B2 team will be without a manager for the remaining 3 matches so we are looking for any individual that can surrender a few hours out of their Sunday to support the team and the same for the A2 team for the last 2 matches. If you are able to assist get in contact with Ian George who can let you know just what is required.

Good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.

North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 3

Just for something different all the GA Pennant A2 and B2 competitions were held at the modified Flagstaff Hill golf course which is well and truly underway with the transformation, it will most definitely be a great location once the Lifestyle village and course modifications have been completed.

The NAGC B2 started at 12.45 taking on the boys from Blackwood.

This week’s line-up saw a couple of new members to the side included Chris Watson, Atila Koca, Abbasi Mchawala, Frank Kong, John Filmalter, Luis Madriz and James Abiero.

The result was not what we hoped for with our guys toughing it out to go down 2 and 5.

The B2 team which are currently sitting 7th on the ladder will take on 8th placed Highercombe at Aston Hills which should be a great match.

As with all games, any support that the teams get from our members is greatly appreciated.

Good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.

North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 2

Another Sunday another challenge for our Men’s Pennant teams for 2025, the A2 boys kicked off the dew at Penfield bright and early and at home the B2 guys got underway just before lunchtime.

The NAGC B2 suited up at home which did work in our favour against Flagstaff Hill.

The line-up was Chris Watson, Atila Koca, John Filmalter, Joe Scriva, Abbasi Mchawala, Frank Kong and Steven Draper.

Whilst there were some lop sided results that favoured bot teams an d1 that was left to be halved at the 18th the team managed to square the result so no W but so darn close.

The score was 3 ½ to 3 ½ to each team which surprisingly was the result from 2 of the other matches at our home, well done guys.

As always the support that is provided from some of the members that showed up to cheer on their mates is greatly appreciated.

A great thanks goes out to Helen Silvy our on-course referee who was there for what felt like an eternity until all of the matches were completed and to Roger Godwin who showed off his fine tong skills at the BBQ which was greatly appreciated by the players, many thanks to both of you.

We all saddle up and travel off to Flagstaff Hill this coming Sunday with the A2 team taking on Mount Osmond at 10.00 and the B2 team starting at 12.45 taking on Blackwood.

I know it is a bit of a trek, but any support goes a long way to helping the cause.

Best of luck to all those that are representing the North Adelaide Golf Club.

North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 1

Well the shift from Winter to Summer most definitely was greatly appreciated, conditions were pretty good for our teams on Sunday however the winds did prove a challenge most definitely at West Lakes.

NAGC has 2 teams competing in the Men’s section, A2 and B2 this season.

The NAGC B2 group were presented with the challenge of taking on West Lakes on their home turf.

The line-up was Chris Watson, Steven Darch, Atila Koca, Paul Haines, John Filmalter, Joe Scriva and Abbasi Mchawala.

Fair to say that taking on a home team on a course like West Lakes was always going to be a challenge and at times during the match it was looking favourable for us however as hard as the guys tried they we ended up going down 1 ½ to 5 ½.

Many thanks to the players and supporters that showed up to play and support our members, well done.

The competition takes a break next weekend for LIV but after that the B2 team are at home against Flagstaff Hill.

Any support for our players would be greatly appreciated.
