2025 Men's A2 Pennant
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 6
Sad to say the bubble burst, the momentum that was building has been halted unfortunately.
The A2 group duelled it out at the Tanunda Pines against the local lads from the Mid-North and I reckon local knowledge made the difference between the 2 teams.
This week’s team was Chantha Kong, Shaun Dawson, Toby Maddern, Henry Park, Corey Fawkes, Steven Darch and Paul Haines.
The result was not what we had hoped for with our boys going down 1½ to 5½.
The A2 guys wrap up their season at Blackwood on Sunday and as always we wish them good luck for a favourable result.
Lastly, I speak for all members of the North Adelaide Golf Club when I say many thanks to all the players that have suited up for NAGC this season.
It has not ended up as we hoped but there has been some success along the way, something to build on for the next season, well done guys.
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 5
Well folks Groundhog Day is alive and well in Adelaide, or at West Lakes last Sunday anyway and to a lesser extent at Blackwood as well.
Last Sunday’s events took place at West Lakes for the A’s and at Blackwood for the B’s.
Well, I am not sure if 2 in a row constitutes being on a ‘roll’ but I am going with that, the A’s are well and truly on a roll, yep folks 2 in a row gotta bring a smile to the dial.
The A2 group kicked off proceedings at West Lakes against Blackwood buoyed by the success from the weekend before.
This week’s team was Alex Martinson, Chantha Kong, Shaun Dawson, Toby Maddern, Simon Welsh, Henry Park and Steven Darch.
This week’s result did not come with the heart palpitations from the week before despatching Blackwood to the tune of 5 and 2, great work team.
On a high after 2 in a row the A’s travel to Tanunda to take on the Mid North group.
Our NAGC members are doing their best for the club and it would be greatly appreciated if a couple of folk could put their hands up to support these guys whilst they do battle.
You don’t need to do too much apart from ride in a cart and hand out drinks or snacks to the guys during the round.
We could really do with some support for both teams again this weekend and next, which is the last minor round match so if you are able to assist get in contact with me and I can let you know just what is required.
Once again good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 4
Round 4 saw our A2 team taking on the top place West Lakes at home.
We have been waiting for this moment, well the author definitely has, pop the corks everybody we bagged ourselves a ‘W’ and I could not be happier for the players.
The NAGC A2 got underway under the warm skies at 11.30 with hopes of a good showing against the ladder leaders..
This week’s team was Alex Martinson, Chantha Kong, Shaun Dawson, Toby Maddern, Corey Fawkes, Atila Koca and Steven Darch.
As was expected the battle was a tough one but it was one the guys were up to and they knocked off the top poppies winning 4 and 3, you beauty.
Buoyed from their success the A2 team travels to West Lakes to take on Blackwood and the B2 team Will take on Regency Park at Blackwood.
The A2 team will be without a mamanger for the last 2 matches. If you are able to assist get in contact with Ian George who can let you know just what is required.
Good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 3
Just for something different all the GA Pennant A2 and B2 competitions were held at the modified Flagstaff Hill golf course which is well and truly underway with the transformation, it will most definitely be a great location once the Lifestyle village and course modifications have been completed.
The NAGC A2 started bright and early at 10.00 am team were pitched against Mount Osmond which had quite a strong playing roster.
This week’s team was Chantha Kong, Shaun Dawson, Henry Park, Toby Maddern, Alex Martinson, Paul Haines and Steven Darch.
It was a tough battle for our boys and try as they may we ended up going down 0 and 7.
The next round is a home game for the A2 team taking on the top placed team from West Lakes where hopefully local knowledge will carry them through.
As with all games, any support that the teams get from our members is greatly appreciated.
Good luck to those who are playing next Sunday.
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 2
Another Sunday another challenge for our Men’s Pennant teams for 2025, the A2 boys kicked off the dew at Penfield bright and early and at home the B2 guys got underway just before lunchtime.
The NAGC A2 team were pitched against the strong Willunga team.
This week’s team was Shaun Dawson, Chantha Kong, Henry Park, Corey Fawkes, Toby Maddern, Paul Haines and Steven Darch.
Whilst the elusive match W did not happen there was a W in one of the games, so it is a start with greater thing to come.
The final result was 1 and 6 against.
As always the support that is provided from some of the members that showed up to cheer on their mates is greatly appreciated.
A great thanks goes out to Helen Silvy our on-course referee who was there for what felt like an eternity until all of the matches were completed and to Roger Godwin who showed off his fine tong skills at the BBQ which was greatly appreciated by the players, many thanks to both of you.
We all saddle up and travel off to Flagstaff Hill this coming Sunday with the A2 team taking on Mount Osmond at 10.00 and the B2 team starting at 12.45 taking on Blackwood.
I know it is a bit of a trek, but any support goes a long way to helping the cause.
Best of luck to all those that are representing the North Adelaide Golf Club.
North Adelaide Golf Club - GA Pennants - Round 1
Well the shift from Winter to Summer most definitely was greatly appreciated, conditions were pretty good for our teams on Sunday however the winds did prove a challenge most definitely at West Lakes.
NAGC has 2 teams competing in the Men’s section, A2 and B2 this season.
The NAGC A2 team journeyed their way to Willunga to take on Flagstaff Hill.
The team made up of Shaun Dawson, Chantha Kong, Yung Bok Kim, Simon Welsh, Corey Fawkes, Toby Maddern and Alex Martinson battled on in the afternoon sunshine.
As hard as our guys tried they succumbed to the strength of the Flagstaff Hill mob and sadly went down 0 and 7
Many thanks to the players and supporters that showed up to play and support our members, well done.
The competition takes a break next weekend for LIV but after that the A2 team suit up against Willunga at the tight Penfield course.
Any support for our players would be greatly appreciated.
